Benefits Of Foot Reflexology

Reflexology is my favorite type of massage. It is more like acupuncture in a sense that it touches specific pressure points that targets any part of your body. There are different types of reflexologies such as, ear reflexology, hand reflexology, and foot reflexology.

The only type of reflexology I’ve had done on me is foot reflexology. I love it and I want to share a little about it because it has helped me to improve certain areas of my body that became tight or stiff after a long period of doing a workout program. The best effect being that reflexology removes lactic acid and improves performance. Lactic acid can be toxic for the body and removing it may help you to have better results after your workouts.

“Reflexology is based on the premise that the nerves in your feet, hands and ears each correspond with other parts of your body. Applying pressure to certain reflex areas can relieve symptoms in other parts of the body. Engaging a nerve in your big toe, for example, could reduce tension in your head and relieve a headache. Applying pressure to your heel could aid in digestion.”

Research shows that reflexology has four effects besides removing lactic acid in the body:

  • It can impact specific organs, such as by increasing blood flow to the kidneys
  • It can help organs function properly
  • It can create relaxation and reduce anxiety.
  • It can relieve pain throughout the body.

Here is a Foot Reflexology Chart that shows where on your feet you can find and target specific pressure points throughout the body:
