Okay for all the mamas out there . . . here’s to potty training time!

By no means am I a potty-training expert, but I’m just going to share with you the things that have worked for me. My son and daughter both became 100% fully potty trained by 3 years old. To be exact they were 3 years and 4 months old.

A few of you have asked, “How do you know when it’s a good time to start?” Of course, every child is different, but by two years old it felt like a good time to at least start introducing all things potty.

With our boy it was pull-ups and having my husband bring him to the bathroom to show him what to do. With our daughter, it was pull-ups as well and I also bought a book, “All Pau with Diapers” by Holly Braffet, which she enjoyed looking at the illustrations.

For both of them, they started pull-ups at about 14 months when they started walking. We had a sticker chart on the wall in the bathroom right next to the toilet to have them add a sticker to each time they went to use the toilet. They absolutely LOVED choosing which sticker to add to the chart! One sticker for #1 and two stickers for #2. Lol.

The more you can have them understand the concept of potty time the better they will do. Check out the links to the things that helped make the transitions smooth for us. I hope this helps you with your toddlers, too! All the best!!
